The Record of Changes to Global Biogeochemical Processes
This project uses metamorphic and igneous rock records to reconstruct how tectonic processes have driven changes in global biogeochemical cycles — particularly phosphorus cycling — throughout Earth's history. By examining how plate tectonics has evolved over the last 2.5–3 billion years, the research connects the geological record to shifts in nutrient availability and biological productivity, offering insights into the conditions that sustain planetary habitability.
